Give it up for our instructor of the week, Calvin Braxton! Calvin is a rockstar instructor, actor, and coach who sets the record in the BollyX community for most fitness classes taught in one week. Between Zumba, Aqua Zumba, BollyX, Senior Dance Fitness, muscle conditioning, and circuit training, Calvin never stops.

Q: How would you describe BollyX in one word?
A: EXHILARATING

Q: What is your favorite part of a BollyX class?
A: My favorite part of BollyX is my favorite part of all the dance forms that I teach: the music. In this case, it is Bollywood music that is energetic with powerful vocals, drums, and fabulous instrumentation.

Q: How has working with BollyX changed you?
A: BollyX has changed me by helping me see that I can deliver a higher impact class to people and still make it fun!

Calvin teaches BollyX at locations throughout Boston, including Malden and Allston. To learn more about Calvin and BollyX, check out our class schedule at https://bollyx.com/classes/

Instructor of the Week: Meghana

Our newest Instructor of the Week is credited with bringing BollyX to Philadelphia. Meghana is a veterinary student at the University of Pennsylvania and teaches BollyX at the PennRec Health and Fitness Center. She tore it up for the first time last week and will be back this Thursday to rock it out with our Philly crowd.

Q: How would you describe BollyX in one word?
A: Energizing!

Q: What differentiates BollyX from other dance/fitness platforms you’ve worked with?
A: I think what sets BollyX apart from other dance fitness classes is its ability to appeal to a huge variety of people. It’s great to see people from all walks of life and backgrounds come together to enjoy this class.

Q: What is your favorite part of a BollyX class?
A: Probably the warm-up song. A lot of people come into a dance fitness class with a certain degree of hesitancy, so it’s really awesome to see that nervousness melt away as the song progresses. By the end of it, the class is relaxed, warmed up, and hungry for more!

Q: How has working with BollyX changed you?
A: BollyX has been a great way for me to both share my love of dancing with my community and to stay in shape! It’s easy to get a little lazy when you spend so much time sitting in class, but BollyX motivates me to sweat it out on the dancefloor!

Instructor of the Week: Dalia Debs

Instructor of the Week is back in full force! Give it up for Dalia Debs, one of our regional trainers leading the charge in Boston. Dalia works in Institutional FX Sales at State Street during the day and rocks BollyX at VIM, The Dance Complex, MIT, and other Boston locations at night.

Q: How would you describe BollyX in one word?
A: HOT!

Q: What is your favorite part of a BollyX class?
A: Hands down the performance! Of course it’s generally fun to bust out in a Bollywood style performance, but that aside, you definitely feel a sense of camaraderie build up among the class participants which is just a pleasure to be a part of. I have seen the most shy and introverted people (myself included at first!) let go of all inhibitions and just GET DOWN during this part of class and it totally makes my day to witness it.

Q: How has working with BollyX changed you?
A: BollyX opened me up to a new genre that I really knew nothing about before but I absolutely love now. It’s given me the opportunity to incorporate dance into my daily life and be a part of something I am really passionate about – helping others stay active and healthy by simply having a good time.
