I was born and raised in Houston, Texas. I started traditional Indian dancing at the age of 10. That is when I first discovered that I had a passion for Indian dance! My dance instructor at that time was really strict but I believe that I needed that in order to improve on my dancing ability and also to succeed as a performer. I participated in traditional Indian dance competitions from the ages of 10-11. After that, I performed Bollywood dances with my family and friends at various events ranging from weddings of family or friends to Indian shows. I performed many Indian dances until the age of 28. I stopped dancing because I let some people's judgmental comments on dancing is for younger people get to me. Those comments has taught me a very valuable lesson in life and that is to never let anyone get in the way of what you are passionate about! I have also learned that you are never too old to dance or do anything with your life!

I decided in September of 2018 to find a Bollywood dance studio so I could get back into dancing. I did a Google search for a Bollywood dance class and came across: The Infused Performing Arts Studio in Stafford, Texas, which teaches BollyX. I decided to join the next day. I enjoyed Bollyx from day one and from then on I have been a regular member of BollyX. In a few months of joining BollyX, I asked one of the instructors at the studio about trying out to become a BollyX instructor. In April of 2019 I tried out to become an instructor, and I was so happy when I found out that I passed the exam to become an instructor! My personal goal for 2019 was to become a BollyX instructor and I am so happy that I fulfilled this dream of mine!!
