At the age of four, Patti started taking creative movement classes and has been creatively moving ever since. She attended tap, jazz and ballet classes until college when she became a member of her university’s dance company. A career in education kept her busy teaching high school Speech and Drama but she continued to move, taking fitness and dance classes when possible and joining a Belly Dance Troupe and a Ballroom Dance team. After retiring from teaching, she pursued a second career, this time in fitness, first getting her Zumba license in 2006, then becoming a 200-hr registered yoga teacher, ACE certified Group Exercise Instructor and ACSM Personal Trainer. She finds her most joy when sharing different dance rhythms with children which she has be doing through elementary school assemblies the past seven years. Most recently she developed a program titled “Passport to India” to share the culture and dances of India with young people. Her program has been picked up by many public libraries in Kansas City, Missouri, and surrounding areas. She is excited to be expanding her knowledge and techniques in the various dances of India and soon expanding her class offerings to include BollyX, BollyX LIT and BollyX for Kids.
