A little bit about me;

Name: Shefali, or Shef. Three syllables trip people up I get it.

From: Born in New Delhi, grew up in Minnesota. I somehow speak Hindi with a Minnesotan accent so I usually just don’t.

Dance Background: I have been dancing since I could walk and started taking formal lessons when I was 5. Since then, I've dabbled in so many styles I can't even keep track anymore - most notably Bollywood, Kathak (a style of dance from North India), Tap, Ballet, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Pole, and my personal favorite - Belly Dance.

Why I decided to become a BollyX Instructor: Growing up I was heavily involved in various dance projects. It was the center of my social life and the source of so many amazing memories. After graduating college, I found those dance opportunities are few and far in between (except for during wedding season). I missed it so much before BollyX came into the picture. Now I feel more "me" now that I'm dancing again regularly!

What I do in my free time: Embroidery has become one of my favorite relaxing hobbies. It was so easy to get started and I love decorating the the place with the end results. I also got a quarantine puppy named Snowy - he's been taking up a lot of my time lately when I'm not working. Potty training is never-ending!

My Useless Talent: I have Pi memorized to 60 digits. It was because of a contest in third grade and I LOST!

Biggest Fear: Spiders. There are too many legs to focus on.

Coke or Pepsi?: La Croix. Perrier if my paycheck just came in.
